The Details
In addition to SFX and Face & Body Paint submissions, we are looking for talented makeup artists and makeup lovers to join in the fun! The Camera Ready Cosmetics team will select FOUR total winners (two from each category) based on their overall use of the makeup, creativity, and passion for all things SFX and beauty. Photo and video quality will be considered.
For our Total Transformation category, go all out! This category is for the SFX lovers, prosthetic experts and anyone wanting to show off the full range of their skills. Submit looks with abundant use of fake blood, wounds, and full face and/or body paint transformations to partake in this category. Gore and prosthetics are not required.
For our Glam category, we invite you to create a makeup look that shows off your skills and creativity. Combine both traditional makeup techniques with SFX or face/body paint elements while not fully transforming yourself. Minimal gore elements may be included in this category.

The Prizes
There will be FOUR total winners, a 1st and 2nd Place Winner for each category. All four winners will have their work featured on the CRC website and social media, and one grand prize winner (selected from the two 1st Place Winners) will be featured in a blog spotlighting their work and career. In addition, the four winners will also receive the following:
The two 1st Place Winners will receive a $250 Gift Card to www.camerareadycosmetics.com.
The two 2nd Place Winners will receive a $100 Gift Card to www.camerareadycosmetics.com.
How to Enter
Submit your look(s) on Instagram from 9/12/20 to 10/31/20 and follow all rules listed below. Winner to be announced on 11/6/20
- You must follow @CameraReadyCosmetics & @CameraReadySFX on Instagram
- Post a high-resolution image of your original Halloween makeup look
- Multiple submissions are allowed but not required. Videos are also allowed and will increase your odds of winning but not required
- New posts only! Posts from before September 12 , 2020, will not be considered. Have a favorite look? Post it again during the contest dates to enter
- Tag @CameraReadyCosmetics & @CameraReadySFX in your post, and include the hashtag #CameraReadyForHalloween
- Tell us about the inspiration behind the look, what products of ours you used, and why you'd like to have your work featured by CRC. Tell us what techniques you'd love to teach our community if you win
FAQ
Q: I'm entering other contests. May I enter the look that I'm using for another contest for the CRC contest?
A: Yes! As long as you tag us appropriately, use our hashtag #CameraReadyForHalloween, follow the rest of the rules above and post the image on Instagram during our contest dates, it may count as an entry for our contest.
Q: Is the contest open internationally?
A: Absolutely. We take pride in having a talented community that spans the entire globe!
Q: What if I don't own any makeup from the brands you offer?
A: You may still enter, but you must include the brands or products you wish you could have used to create the look in your caption
Q: Is there a minimum age to enter?
A: We are adhering to Instagram's age minimum requirement. All entrants must be at least 13 years old.
Q: What if I don't use Instagram?
A: For this contest, we are accepting entries on Instagram only. However, we will have future opportunities for you to show off your skills! If you'd like to submit photos of your work for future opportunities, email us at marketing@crcmakeup.com.
Category Examples
Total Transformation Category: if the makeup used is intended to completely transform you or your model instead of enhancing the natural look, we will consider the look to be in the Total Transformation Category. The use of prosthetics, and gore beyond minimal use will also qualify for this category.
Glam Category: looks that are used to enhance or change your appearance instead of totally transform your look will be counted in the Glam Category. Glam looks may include minimal gore. If you want verification, please DM us on Instagram or send us a message to marketing@crcmakeup.com!
