I just love the color story of this palette, and I find the majority of the shades to perform very well. The shades were buildable, stacked nicely over each other and blended easily.
This a fragile palette, so I do not recommend it for travelling. The shadows are softly pressed so I would be on the gentlier side while handling it. The only shade that under performed for me was Blue Dream. It is on the sheer side and doesn't build up well, however it does work as a topper shade over the other colors and you can work with it damp. These are not the longest lasting shades either. While they built up well and blended nicely they faded quite quickly, even over primer and concealer. So if you need them to last all night be prepared to place the shadows over a wet base, or to retouch them when you can. Gravity and Mean Green survived a night out, but the mattes Sour Diesel and Space Queen faded noticeably.
I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Even with the cons I mentioned I still recommend this palette. The majority of shades are bold and blend beautifully, and you can create a nice variety of smokey and grunge looks with this color story. This was my first Melt product and I think I will check out the famed Gemini palette next. I really enjoyed the formula in the Smoke Sessions palette, so hopefully their other products are similar. I've been using Smoke Sessions almost daily since I bought it a couple of weeks ago, and I don't see myself tiring of it anytime soon.
