Our History

Mary Erickson

Professional makeup artist, Mary Erickson, founded Camera Ready Cosmetics in 2003 in San Diego, California. Having worked in the makeup industry for more than 30 years, Mary had one vision in mind when opening Camera Ready’s doors: to create a fun and playful professional makeup showroom where artists could try out the best quality products without the typical attitude of makeup retail stores.

Mary began by curating an extensive collection of popular products on the market and narrowing those down to the best of the best, only choosing cosmetic brands that respected and formulated products for artists. The result: people of Southern California loved it, and growth happened quickly for Mary and her small team. Soon, Camera Ready was selling products worldwide.

In 2015, Mary made the decision to move all operations to Dallas, Texas. Ten of Camera Ready’s then-employees made the move with their families and continued working for the company in its new location. Today, Camera Ready is a thriving and fast-growing company with 19 full-time and 6 part-time employees and more than 500,000 customers worldwide.

Mary has hand-selected a dynamic, experienced management team to independently oversee and maintain company operations.

Andrew attended the Digital Film Academy of New York City. Through savvy business and marketing efforts, he has improved and streamlined digital advertising, logistics and internal resources, saving the company more than $170,000 annually.

Warehouse Manager

Diane has been with Camera Ready Cosmetics for three years and has more than 20 years of experience in retail management. She oversees all warehouse operations for the company. Prior to joining the team, Diane co-owned a loan processing business for nine years, as well as managed retail teams.

Customer Service Manager

Rocio has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Arkansas. She has worked in the beauty industry for eight years, and currently oversees all showroom operations for the company, including management of the customer service division. Rocio has been with Camera Ready Cosmetics for two years and has more than 10 years of customer service experience.

Marketing Manager/Beauty Editor

Mallory holds her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Southern Mississippi. She oversees the marketing division, plans workshops and trade shows, and develops content for Camera Ready. Mallory has six years of marketing experience and more than nine years of editorial experience with regional and national publications.

Liz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Florida State University. Before moving to Dallas, she worked in New York City’s luxury beauty industry where she gained first-hand experience in top-notch customer service and high-quality product formulation. Liz has been with Camera Ready Cosmetics for three years and has eight years of industry experience.

IT and Web Manager

Leo holds an Associate of Science degree in Computer Network Administration from Cuyamaca College. He oversees the website maintenance, product uploading and IT responsibilities for the company. Leo has been with Camera Ready Cosmetics for two years and has more than 11 years of experience in information technology and web management.

Kimberley H

Senior Buyer

Kim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising from the University of North Texas. She also attended Parson’s School of Design in New York City for an applied focus on Fashion Buying. Kim has 18 years of retail buying, planning and product development experience, largely with the Dallas based luxury retailer, Neiman Marcus. Spending 9 years in the Beauty & Fragrance division, Kim worked as a Buyer growing and developing luxury color and treatment lines before joining Camera Ready Cosmetics in 2018. Kim oversees the Buying division by securing new vendor resources, handling contract negotiation, managing vendor relations, curating compelling merchandise offerings and improving the overall productivity of each brand.
