FAQ's
Which heat level do I use to de-pot my makeup?
The heating level will depend on the makeup product you are de-potting.
Cream products and lipsticks should be set at a heating level 3.
Non-metal pans (example: MAC) should be set at a higher heating level 4-5.
Metal pans we recommend at level 3.
Will the entire surface of the Z potter heat up?
No, because the Z Potter uses induction technology, it only heats the metal pans. It won’t get hot to the touch, which means no more burning injuries.
Can I depot more than one makeup at a time?
Yes, you can depot multiple pans at once.
How long can I keep my Z Potter on?
The Z Potter has an automatic shut off safety feature, which will cause your Z Potter to shut down after 20 minutes of use.
Will I burn myself?
Unlike former methods of de-potting, such as lighters or flat irons, the Z Potter is safe to the touch. However, since the metal pan will heat up as it is ready to de-pot, please remove carefully using our De-potting Spatula.
What is the difference between the Z Potter and the standard hot plate?
The Z Potter is safe, simple, and efficient. Unlike a conventional hot plate that heats the entire surface to scalding hot temperatures, the Z Potter uses induction technology to only heat the metal pans. This means that it doesn’t destroy the packaging or release the toxic fumes of melting plastic as well as saving your fingers from painful burns. What is especially unique about Z Potter technology is that it can detect even our tiny Mini sized pans, while as traditionally induction cooker can’t recognize anything smaller than 4 inches. The five temperature settings give you control while de-potting your makeup. The Z Potter is also designed to be smaller and more compact than any hot plate on the market.
What are all the different settings and modes?
The Z Potter has 5 temperature settings, to ensure complete control while de-potting your makeup. The first setting is 150° Fahrenheit. Setting 2 is 225°; setting 3 is 300°; setting 4 is 350°; and setting 5 is 400°. We also have an additional mode that allows you to use the Z Potter as a traditional hot plate to heat up soups and other dishes.
If I melt my lipsticks, will they dry out or lose their texture in the palette?
Due to our strong magnetic closure, creams in our palettes will have the same if not more protection from the air and environment as they would in a traditional tube container.
Can I melt stick foundations and concealers on the Z Potter?
Yes!
How do I get leftover glue off the bottom of my pans?
We recommend using rubbing alcohol or Goo Be Gone.
