To celebrate this well-loved foundation, we asked six makeup lovers to test-drive Ultrabase to tell us how it stacks up against their go-to base products and to give us their honest feedback. FOUNDATION PREFERENCE: Cream or liquid with full coverage and a satin (sometimes glowy) finish
FAVORITE FOUNDATIONS: NARS Radiant Longwear shade and Too Faced Born This Way in shade
Erika: The formula is amazing! It’s full coverage without being cakey. I still feel like I look like myself. My skin looks like skin. It wears beautifully over time. I also appreciate that it works well with different mediums of products. For example, I can use cream or powder blush, cream or powder bronzer with the foundation . Everything plays nicely together. It’s the first foundation I’ve been genuinely excited for in a while. Golden Tan 1 will be a good shade for me in the summer.

FOUNDATION PREFERENCE: Balm or liquid with full coverage
FAVORITE FOUNDATIONS: Too Faced Born This Way in shade Almond and Anastasia Beverly Hills Luminous Foundation in shade 200W
Rose: I instantly loved the formula! It’s full coverage, yet feels like my skin but better. The formula is buttery. And it blends effortlessly! The only thing that I would change is that I'd want a larger pan size!

@neese_xo - Shade Olive Beige 2
SKIN TYPE: Oily/Combination
FOUNDATION PREFERENCE: Liquid or cream matte foundations, and the coverage depends on the day! I like light to full!
FAVORITE FOUNDATIONS: Make Up For Ever HD shade Y255 and Bareminerals Complexion Rescue Stick shade Natural 05
Denise: The finish and the color match really stood out to me the most! This foundation provided great coverage but looked completely natural. Also, the variety of olive undertones is exceptional. The foundation could not have matched my skin better! Lastly, despite being medium to full coverage, it still felt lightweight which is something I really look for in a foundation. It wore for just over 6 hours on my oily skin, and that's really good compared to other foundations on me!

@sashawichita - Shade Alabaster
SKIN TYPE: Combination leaning toward dry
FOUNDATION PREFERENCE: I typically use a medium coverage liquid foundation for my makeup looks. Sometimes I just spot conceal for everyday looks and occasionally I do heavier cream foundations if a look or concept calls for it.
FAVORITE FOUNDATIONS: Milani Screen Queen Natural Finish Foundation in 180 and Bite Beauty Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation in L15. Other shade matches include MAC NC15 and Estee Lauder Doublewear in 1N1.
Sasha: The finish of this foundation is such a dream, it really does feel like skin. I love how it's highly pigmented, so you can customize the coverage from light to full. The shade range is fantastic - I feel like anyone can find their perfect match. I absolutely loved the performance. My skin is sensitive to many foundations, especially those with silicones, and this one didn't irritate it all. In fact, my skin felt more hydrated than with any other foundation I've tried. I also love that the brand doesn't test on animals, and it was fun to hear about the product from Joe himself in his videos.

FOUNDATION PREFERENCE: Liquid and light coverage with a dewy or natural finish
FAVORITE FOUNDATIONS: Rare Beauty Foundation in shade 170w and Undone Beauty Skin Tint shade Light
Dominika: I am thrilled that this foundation range has so many options for olive undertones! It’s so difficult for those of us with olive tones to find foundations that work for us, and this foundation has MULTIPLE shades that could work. That is crazy! Mr. Blasco really understands the complexity of olive undertones and I am so excited about that. On top of that, the finish is absolutely gorgeous. Although I typically prefer a light coverage foundation, the finish of this one is so natural that I’ve been using it over and over. I'm wearing Olive in this pic, but shade Special Lite Olive 1 is an even better match!

@theyawndawn - Shades Golden Tan 2 & Golden Tan 3
SKIN TYPE: Oily/Combination
FOUNDATION PREFERENCE: I love every finish there is because I love experimenting with different consistencies and I have preferred medium to full coverage for years but have slowly started appreciating less coverage.
FAVORITE FOUNDATIONS: Dior Backstage shade 4.5 N, Huda Beauty 430N Gingerbread, Chanel BD91, Nars Natural Radiant and Soft Matte Tahoe, Fenty Pro Filt'r 350
